DNA Polymerase I, Large (Klenow) fragment is a DNA polymerase that retains the polymerase activity and 3'→5' proofreading exonuclease activity. Klenow DNA polymerase lacks the 5'→3' exonuclease activity. The recombinant Klenow Fragment is purified from an E. coli strain that carries the cloned gene.
